Lavaur
Beautiful town made of bricks, six kilometers from the Bastide des Tourelles, Lavaur has a romantic medieval city centre. The Saint-Alain cathedral, masterpiece of the southern Gothic art and its shaded alleys make it worth a walk.

Le Chateau de Magrin
A few kilometers from the Bastide des Tourelles, the “castle of the pastel” will let you discover the history of the dyer’s woad, the plant which made the region’s fortune during the sixteenth century.

La ville d'Albi
Less than an hour from the Bastide des Tourelles, you will discover this unique city, with a visit to the Toulouse-Lautrec museum, and the Sainte-Cécile cathedral which is listed in the World Heritage since 2010. Suiting your mood, you could as well enjoy a walk in the medieval alleys or along the Tarn banks.

Le Canal du Midi
Built in the seventeenth century by Pierre-Paul Riquet, this canal is listed in the World Heritage since 1996. You can visit the museum of the Canal in Saint-Ferréol and plan an amazing trek along the trickle that links the lakes of the Cammazes and of Saint-Ferréol, to eventually join the Canal near Castelnaudary.

Carcassonne
Carcassonne and its world-known medieval citadel is 1h15 away from the Bastide des Tourelles, via a beautiful road through the Black Mountain that offers a panorama towards the citadel.
